In Vitro Fertilization is a laboratory technique that allows us to fertilize an egg with a sperm outside the uterus.

In Vitro Fertilisation is a laboratory technique that allows an egg to be fertilised with a single sperm cell outside the uterus. There are 4 possible IVF procedures: IVF with your own eggs and sperm from your partner, IVF with your own eggs and sperm from a donor, IVF with eggs from a donor and sperm from your partner and IVF with eggs from a donor as well as sperm from a donor.

After retrieving mature eggs from the ovaries, they are fertilised with sperm in the laboratory. Once fertilised, the resulting embryos are implanted in the woman’s uterus.

IVF offers higher pregnancy rates than other treatments. The success of the treatment depends on several factors: age, causes of infertility and medical history, the treatment being used and the number of cycles, among others.

The rates among women aged under 35 after all attempts within the same cycle are as follows:

Spanish law authorises assisted reproduction treatment to any woman of legal age who is in good health and up to an age that is considered appropriate.
